| The Bund der Auslandserwerbstätigen e.V. is a registered association which provides businesses and their employees as well as private individuals with a wide range of helpful services when they are both planning trips and actually staying abroad. For each stay in a foreign country it furnishes information about obtaining the best social security coverage. |

| Function and duties of the association |
The Associations promotes and supports the financial, legal and social interests of natural persons and their families that arise due to employment abroad. This includes:
- Counselling and support regarding private familiar sphere
- Negotiations with authorities, associations, care institutions and other bodies
- Providing information about legislative bodies of the Federal Government and States that draft and prepare laws and legal regulations that affect the interests of the people involved
- Counselling for public and private social security facilities
- Conclusion of agreements for privileged procurement of goods and services

| The organs of the Association are comprised of the General Meeting, the Committee and the Advisory Board.

| General meeting |
The General Meeting is held once a year, usually in the first quarter, and written invitations are sent out. The Committee sets the agenda. Extraordinary meetings are convened if necessary in the interests of the Association. Among other issues, the General Meeting decides on:
- Appointment, dismissal and recalling of Committee members
- Exclusion of a member
- Change of statutes
- Dissolution of the Association and use of the assets.
Every member of the Association has a vote. The General Meeting is deemed to have a quorum when it has been duly convened.

| Chairmanship |
| The Committee is comprised of the Chairman, the Deputy Chairman, the Secretary and the Treasurer. They are all elected and appointed by the General Meeting for four financial years. The Committee manages the business of the Association. |
