The BDAE continually analyses policies offered by private German insurers and has developed a modular concept structure that provides social protection for its members abroad which is oriented towards the benefits of the statutory social insurance scheme. The basic module consists of a special overseas health insurance which covers out-patient, in-patient and dental treatment as well as providing cover in the home country.
